Hi! Let me officially welcome you to my new little toy. It is a web site that my son Jeff helped me create. As you can imagine, I am not the most technological person in the world and I need all the help I can get. Therefore Jeff is on my speed dial and I can usually get his help in a moment’s notice with any computer issues that might arise with the web site — unless, of course, he is working on a paying gig.
I hope to have a lot of fun with the web site and maybe you will, too. I will try to post items that could be of general interest to a large audience, as well as photo galleries, news, a calendar of events for the Northeast Florida area, amusing stories, travel pieces, and just about anything that pops into my mind, or is readily available.
I recently “retired” as the editor of a weekly community newspaper and now I am free to pursue other interests. However, as my wife reminded me, I should attempt to make sure these interests also will bring in an income.
I want the web site to be a place where everyone can participate and have fun joining me. It is for the exchange of ideas, thoughts, prayers and just about anything that most reasonable people would want to do.
I have a great love for children, especially my six grandkids, so you may see a lot of photos of them on these pages. I also like to play golf, so I will write about some of my recent rounds, tell you where I played and with whom. We can talk about travel, politics (umm, maybe not so much right now), music, television shows, restaurants, and my latest interest (out of necessity) — retirement.
The web site is going to keep me occupied for a while but in a few days or weeks I know I will have to quit playing and earnestly look for my own paying gig. That will do it for now. Let me know what you think about the site.

It is great to be able to keep in touch through your website. Keep your readers, friends, and colleagues up to date with all your activities. as I will mss your column in the Clay Sun.
You should do one on the site at least weekly to satify your readers.
Best of luck with your future plans.

Congratulations Lamar. I was completely stunned to see you had retired from the TU. I love my new job. It’s very challenging but the office environment is so supportive and wonderful, my transition from the TU was completely worth it. I’ll be checking your site regularly!

Hi Lamar,
The website looks wonderful and I can tell you put a lot of sweat and toil into it. Time for the cousins to go back to the cabins at Gatlinburg??
